Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center

Building Description:

The 63,000-square-foot Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center opened in January 2002 and is used by students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The Rec Center is named in honor of Ralph S. O'Connor (Class of 1951, trustee 1969-75), whose generosity and leadership made the three-story facility possible. This facility boasts a dynamic, forty foot rock wall, an indoor track, a weight room, a dividable gym with basketball hoops, and a swimming pool. Students and staff need only swipe their JCards to get full access to all the facilities, although special classes, such as yoga and spin, cost an extra fee. Adjacent to the Rec Center is the Athletic Field, where Varsity teams practice during the day, and Flag Football games are played at night during the fall. To the other side, by University Parkway, is the Lacrosse Stadium, where football, soccer, and lacrosse games are played.
